A Simone de la Rue and Joey Gonzalez favorite
When we heard that both Joey Gonzalez of Barry’s Bootcamp and Simone de la Rue were major Newton Running Shoe fans we knew we had to try out a pair of their most popular model, the Gravity Neutral Performance Trainer.
Newton Running shoes are designed for running, however, they are growing in popularity among CrossFitters because of their near-level profile and light weight. I’ve been wearing them for the last month to Barry’s Bootcamp classes and they’re truly fantastic. Not only do they make my knees feel secure despite the pounding on the treadmill, I can move side-to-side unlike many running shoes which only work for forward motion. Newton Running shoes are designed to facilitate a natural running stride (ie, landing on the midfoot/forefoot instead of the heel), which reduces the chance of getting an overuse injury (sore knees, shin splints, etc.) that plague many runners. Also can we spend a minute marveling at how fantastic their colorways are…I mean dang!
Now if only I could pull a Simone de la Rue and justify owning a pair in every color…
