On trend, practical swimwear

Surf-inspired swimwear line Calavera was conceived by designer Anna Jerstrom to be both flattering and functional. In fact each suit is tested rigorously in the waters of Costa Rica on Jerstrom’s team of surfer girls (i.e. it will resist the pulling and tugging of the little ones). The brand has build a following amongst women from all kinds of  activities: volleyball, stand up paddle, triathlons, water polo, etc. — including a number of celebrities in the fitness world like Sian Gordon, Owner of Love Yoga in Montauk. Gordon is a surfer as well as as yogi and is a big fan of the entire range, in particular the Glam top and Skimpy bottom.

While we’re no world class athletes, we love the line for being comfortable, yet fashionable so we don’t have to fret about feeling frumpy (after all being in a bikini can be stressful enough…). Plus the website lets you mix and match tops and bottoms so you can find the perfect cut and color for your body type.

So…now we can feel like a surfer even if we’re perfectly happy just tanning on the beach with the kids.
