jukariTop 5 Exercise Crazes To Make Workouts Fun

Even if you missed when the clock struck twelve (or the calendar struck June 21st) to get into your exercise routine for the summer, it’s still not too late to get in shape and toned for the next couple of months and beyond.

If the reason you renege on  your exercise plans has anything to do with sheer boredom—you’re tired of the treadmill, always rethinking your running route, and more, we think we can help. We’ve scoured the workout spots from coast to coast to find out the hottest exercise crazes that will get you more motivated to move, whether you totally take one on as a new routine or just intermittently work it in to what already works for you.

1. Zumba  - combining Latin-themed music with easy-to-learn moves, it’s a workout routine that uses interval training (fast and slow rhythms for cardio) with resistance training (to sculpt and tone).

2. Aqua Spinning – It’s a mix of good old-fashioned water aerobics and the popular stationary spinning bike. Now, the bike is in the H20 to reduce sports injuries, increase resistance, and not let you feel yourself sweat.

3. Hoolah Hooping – You won’t have to borrow from your kids. You need a heavier adult version and to conjure up your days on the playground. Besides the cardio swooshing, there will be moves to tone your arms, legs, and more.

4. Pole/Striptease Aerobics – Tap in to your inner stripper.  Both these cardio workouts teach and use moves in a campy but effective way. There are tons of classes offered or there’s plenty of paraphernalia out there so you can do it in the privacy of your own home.

5. Jukari – The result of a collaboration between Cirque Du Soleil and Reebok, Jukari Fit to Fly is an intensive gym workout that combines cardio with suspension (you’re basically on a low-flying trapeze). It’s all about making a workout fun: you feel like you’re flying while you’re actually strengthening and lengthening (there’s a lot of cardio, strength, balance and core training going on).  Jukari Fit to Flex uses those seemingly magical ribbons to increase movement and build muscle endurance.

What’s your favorite workout when you’re in a rut?
