airlinesTop Ten Airports with Kid Playzones if You Have to Endure a Layover

If you’re flying with kids this summer, it will be stressful enough without having to change planes mid-trip, rush to a faraway terminal, wait around, get in line, take off and land without ears popping to the point of hysteria not to mention enduring the trip on said plane–all for the second go-round. Well, nothing we can do about the airlines’ flight paths creating these stopovers but we can help with ways to make the time go by with fun rather than with fits. Airports/hubs across the country are getting that they have to be family friendly and many have mini museums and play spaces in the terminals that will keep your kids entertained while they wait. So if you find yourself in one of these spots below, don’t make it through the wait by pulling from your bag o’ tricks–save that for the plane!

1. Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) – 2 play areas/interactive exhibits
2. Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) -  2 aviation-themed play areas
3. Denver International (DEN) - 1 play area
4. Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) - 1 aviation-themed play area
5. Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) - 2 aviation-themed educational play areas
6. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) - 4 play areas
7. Boston Logan Airport (BOS) - 2 play areas
8. Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) - 2 aviation-themed play areas
9. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) - 7 play areas
10. Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) - 1 play area
