Fashion, beauty, and celebrities collide

New York Fashion Week  came to a close a week or so ago and even though you’ve been bogged down with the bambinos, we’ve got the highlights to keep you in the loop.

1. Multiple moments of silence for the late, great Alexander McQueen.

2. Faith Hill was the guest judge at the yet-to-be-aired Project Runway Finale.

3. Hourglass is one of the COOLEST new cosmetics brands to launch. They were responsible for the looks at the La Perla show and the only thing we liked better than their makeup colors, were the uber-sleek packaging.

4. Mickey Avalon performed at the Alice + Olivia presentation which took place at the Gansevoort Hotel’s new hot spot, Provocateur.

5. Isaac Mizrahi, Thuy, Marc Bower, and many more stopped by the tents Saturday, February 13th to sell their designs live on QVC from Bryant Park while promoting Fashion for Haiti.

6. Betsey Johnson hosted a love-themed show on Valentine’s Day titled “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.”

7. A svelte Whitney Port made an appearance at the HauteLook (a site that hosts private, limited-time sale events), Lounge at the Bryant Park Hotel to kick-off Fashion Week.

8. Tons of celebrities – including, oddly enough, Matt Dillon – at the Charlotte Ronson show.

9. The launch of Spanx Swimwear and Spanx for men (good luck getting the hubby to wear those!).

10. Robert Verdi giving Fashion Survival tips at his Fashion Week Retreat (think 0-cal Vitamin water, healthy Popcorn Indiana, Phyto Glossing Cream, Ginger + Liz nail lacquers…).
