New From Mehron

Say goodbye to boring lips

Mehron has been a professional makeup artist secret for nearly a century, but word is finally get out about their fantastic products. We’re especially loving their lip options and they’ve now introduced four neutral and wearable shades of their L.I.P Liner Pencils, which pair perfectly with their Glosstone PRO lip glosses.

We love the pencils for when we’re going for a dramatic lip look as they amp up our pout while preventing feathering, bleeding, and drying out of our lips. As for the glosses, they’ve long been go-to choices for their moisturizing properties and complexion-flattering shades. Better yet, despite what the brand’s pedigree may leave [...]

Mary’s Gone Crackers

The brand introduces Gluten Free Everything Pretzels

Everything bagels are a Sunday favorite - with cream cheese and lox, of course - so imagine our delight when we got word that Mary’s Gone Crackers had launched a new product, Everything Pretzels ($4.99). And yes we replaced our Sunday bagels with these the other day and wrapped and tipped them in our lox/cream cheese goodness and it was pure heaven - and considerable more healthful.

The uniquely light, crunchy, and incredibly flavorful pretzels are a healthier alternative to other high-sodium pretzels, since they’re loaded with whole grains including brown rice, quinoa, amaranth and millet, as well as tasty and nutritious seeds including flax, sesame and chia. The new Everything Pretzels get extra crunch from poppy seeds and also have onion, garlic, sea salt and herbs to really mimic the all-encompassing flavors of those bagels we all know and love. The pretzels are also organic, gluten free, non-GMO, soy free and vegan and are naturally packed with omega-3s, fiber and protein.

Sure sometimes it’s nice to have something doughy, but a little healthy crunch is [...]

MAC Cosmetics “The Simpsons” Collection

See the collection before it’s available

A few weeks ago we got word that MAC Cosmetics was working on an entire collection based around “The Simpsons,” and now we can finally see everything that the brand has had in the works.

The newbie MAC collection includes a blush, false eyelashes, lip gloss, and an eyeshadow palette that, fittingly, has Marge Simpson’s signature Beehive Blue hue in the mix. Officially launching September 4 atMACCosmetics.com, the celeb-inspired line will be available for a special one day only pre-sale exclusive for San Diego’s Comic Con attendees on July 26th.

While we’ll probably have to wait till September to get our hands on these beauty [...]

New from Vitamix

A personal sized blender

Called the S30, Vitamix just launched a new personal sized blender and we’re in love.

Basically you can expect all the same amazing-ness as you’d find with a traditional Vitamix blender - like high-performance hot or cold blending and the innovative self-cleaning - but you get the added bonus of a compact shape (perfect for say…a New York City apartment), and on-the-go food prep.

We also love this new blender for portion controlling since we can make individual portions of smoothies and soups, two things we often consume way more than one serving size of (the container is 40oz).

The motor found in this model is a 120 volt (60Hz), 790 watt, 1-peak horsepower motor - just like the full-size Vitamix motors so again you can expect the same high-powered quality. The luxe blender’s motor is fitted with a cooling fan and thermal protection system to prevent overheating and there’s an automatic shut-off protection, so that the motor can not be operated without the base being correctly attached [...]

Exfoliating Scrubs: Sugar Vs. Salt

Relax your body and mind

What is the difference between Salt and Sugar Scrubs for face & body? When should you use each? What are the benefits? These are some of the questions we asked Dr. Marina Peredo, associate clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and founder of Spatique Medical Spa. Dr. Peredo shares her expert insight on the subject below.

  • The difference between salt and sugar scrubs is the size of the granules. The smaller the granules, the gentler they are on the skin. Generally, sugar particles are smaller, making them less abrasive on the skin.
  • Sugar scrubs are best used for people with sensitive skin or any skin conditions including rosacea, acne and eczema.
  • Salt scrubs are much coarser in texture and are best used on thick, rough patches of skin like callused elbows, knees and feet.
  • Salt scrubs can also be beneficial for harsh acne breakouts as they help in absorbing oil and unclogging pores.
  • Sugar scrubs are preferable to use on the face as opposed to salt scrubs. The skin on our [...]
