Barefoot & Chocolate

Move over Nutella

We’re sorry but the hubbies, the kiddies, and we agree - Nutella, you got nothing on Barefoot & Chocolate.

We will warn you however all of their flavors are very, very additively delicious so it’s hard to keep yourself to one serving size when enjoying this spreadable delight, but this brand without a doubt makes some of the most delicious chocolate spreads, all of which use Fair Trade and Organic cocoa, sugar and vanilla. What they don’t use? GMOs, artificial ingredients, hydrogenated or solvent extracted oils. There’ no denying that the quality of the ingredients can be tasted with the first bite, lick or um…spoonful.

Some background on this delicious brand: the company was started by a mother and father with food allergies in the family who worried about the purity of the food that they were providing for their little ones, which explains that out of all the spreads out there, this really is the “cleanest.” While we could eat this spread out of the jar no problem, the brand has a slew of recipes on their [...]

Dang, That’s Good

Toasted Coconut Chips

Forget coconut water and coconut milk, the newest thing to hit our pantry is Dang, a brand that makes unique coconut chips - ya coconut chips, they’re a thing.

Almost as good as how these babies taste is the story behind them. It goes a little something like this….some time ago founder Vincent K was asked by his mother to toast some coconuts for a recipe. When he toasted them he was blown away by the their flavor, so he started selling toasted coconut chips at local markets. Everybody loved them, so he started a company and named it Dang as an homage to my Mom, whose name was Dang. How can we not love something made with mommy love! The chips are made by taking mature coconuts, slicing out the nutritious coconut meat, then toasting the nutritious goodness. You can munch on them on their own or add them to things like yogurt [...]
